Ardis Eschenberg

Chancellor of Windward Community College

Ardis Eschenberg, PhD, is the chancellor of Windward Community College. She has served there for 14 years, as dean, vice chancellor for student affairs, vice chancellor for academic affairs, and, for the past 5 years as chancellor. Windward CC is known for innovation in serving community needs and providing a place of support and aloha. During her tenure, the college opened a Hawaiian language based childcare center, Ke Kula Kamaliʻi o Hānaiaulu, founded a large early college high school program which focuses on underserved students, created college degree pathways in carceral facilities (i.e. Women’s Community Correctional Center, Hālawa Correctional Facility, and Hawaiʻi Youth Correctional Facility), and starting the state’s first middle college, Hālau Hekili, a high school within the college.

 

Ardis resides in Kāneʻohe with her two children. She loves to swim and sew. She is so thankful to be part of the beautiful, caring Koʻolau community.
