About Tetine

Tetine is the PI of the Hawai‘i Public Health Workforce Catalyst Lab and the Chin Sik & Hyun Sook Chung Endowed Chair in Public Health Studies in the Office of Public Health Studies (OPHS) in the Thompson School at UH Mānoa. Her interests in supporting, developing, and launching new pathways for a strong and happy public health workforce for health equity are longstanding. She has worked closely with the Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion Division at the Hawai‘i Department of Health (HDOH) for many years, including as co-lead of the Healthy Hawai‘i Initiative Evaluation Team and many other collaborative projects. She also brings knowledge and experience from serving as interim dean of the Thompson School, department chair of OPHS, Fulbright Specialist, and academic lead of a collaborative social media campaign to amplify voices of Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, and Filipino youth across diverse languages. She has published over 120 papers and led projects from the National Institutes of Health, the HDOH, and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality among other funders.
