What We Do
At the Catalyst Lab we consolidate evidence, strengthen training resources, pilot new career pathways, secure funds, and connect with our partners. We're working towards a future that supports and retains the existing workforce and builds the next generation of public health practitioners of Hawai‘i.
Centering health equity
Our approach is centered on health equity and culturally-informed practices. We use data to identify community needs and support work to build upon existing community strengths to address gaps.
Reducing training barriers
We believe cost and geography shouldn't prevent access to essential career training. To reduce these barriers, we design opportunities to lower or eliminate these costs for existing public health professionals and prospective ones with training options in-person and virtually.
Building bridges
There's strength in numbers and diverse connections. We provide local and statewide networking and training opportunities. We curate success stories, exciting career opportunities, and other relevant information to share via our newsletters, social media, website, and events.
